Danbury, CT, December 16, 2004 - Founded in 1919, Junior Achievement's mission is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.

Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, founded in 1946, serves the greater Bridgeport, Danbury and Valley communities. In 2004 alone, 800 volunteers taught programs to over 13,000 students in 71 schools and 598 classrooms.

Nineteen years ago, this chapter came up with a fundraising idea that has turned into an annual event:  a Bowl-a-thon. Traci Morris, Senior Vice President of Cendant Mobility and the General Chairperson for the event, shared that over $1 million has been rasied from the Bowl-a-thon since that time.

Cendant Mobility invited Communico to participate in this year's fund-raiser and help support this worthwhile organization. Communico quickly gathered a team, sponsored a lane and joined hundreds of other bowlers in this community-wide effort. Team Captain, Gregg Barratt, said, "This was a great opportunity to team up with a valued client, support a worthy cause and have a lot of fun in the process."

Other companies including GE, Fleet Bank, Savings Bank of Danbury, Scholastic Publishing, Joyce Vanlines, Aquarion Water Company, Base Technologies, and Sikorsky Aircraft supported the event by providing donations and teams.

The goal for this year's Bowl-a-thon was $120,000. Traci noted that donations are still coming in and they expect to reach that goal.
